Chloes Media Poster + Digipak

Here is my media poster:

For the background, i typed into google 'old paper texture' and i found a typical western background which i decided to use.
For the advertisement that promotes the Digipak, i decided to use a typical "WANTED" idea to go with our western theme, which shows the fun of our film and to show our target audience - teenagers who are into rock/indie type music - that our music video should not be taken too seriously. If the audience had not already seen our music video, i had hoped that they would gather from the poster that our video is enjoyable to watch and quite stylish..
I then chose the font on a website called "www.dafont.com" and after looking through almost every font there was to offer, i chose Nashville font as i thought it suited the theme of our music video, stylish and clear and showing the western theme,
My Digipak idea was to crop our faces from an already existing picture (the main picture on this blog) and i made each little picture into a cuboid effect. I took inspiration for this idea from the album cover Kings of Leon - Only by the Night. Furthermore, i thought this idea would be good as it also represents the intervals in our music video when we - the cowgirls and the indians - each do performance parts (playing bongos, singing, dancing etc).
Lastly, I chose the cuboid effect because our film is quite mixed up and interchanging during the scenes. We show bits of the cowgirls, bits of the indians and at the end, we all come together. This is like a puzzle when you put certain parts together, in order to make the whole picture.

Filming The Last Scene

For our last scene - the fight scene between cowgirls and indians - we chose to film in Danson park in a bit which was open so we could run around but also where not many people would go (because we didn't want to throw coloured sand and leaves over them).
After filming our build up shots
- cowgirls getting into black corsa
- indians getting into smart car
- driving
- both getting out
- walking to the fight scene

We got another media student to film us fighting with the sand, party poppers, stars and leaves. This was quite un-choreographed and we decided to just have fun when filming our last scene to make it look more realistic.

Our film ends as the "taper jean girl" attacks one of the indians. Then the cowgirls help him up and everyone walks away happily :)

As the deadline approaches...

So the deadline is Friday, and today is Tuesday, we have just one scene left to film.  We intended on filming on Sunday, but some costumes were in school.  We then hoped to film on Monday but it was raining heavily- thus affecting our continuity, and today it was also raining.  This makes everything more stressful.  On the upside though, we managed to create several mini clips in final cut that we can use in breaks with, or instead of, lip-syncing.  When the weather decides to pick up, we will film the final scene, our fight scene which may have changed.  Originally we planned a paint fight but when we realised that this would create untold amounts of mess and would have to be extremely choreographed.  We thus decided to use many things as ammunition not solely paint.

Slow Motion & Glass Smash Test

Testing out super slow motion on a pre-filmed clip to see if we could use it for our final 'fight' scene and testing out a glass smashing effect/transition.

Filming in Expresso Bar = 3rd November

Today we filmed in the Expresso Bar in Welling High Street for some Indian shots, this was very successful as we were able to get permission to film there. We managed our time well and could get the shots we needed in a short amount of time, which allowed us to go back to school to upload and edit the footage straight after which was very convenient because if anything had gone wrong we could have gone back to the Expresso Bar to re-film the shots.

Day of Filming = 1st November

We got a lot of filming done yesterday as we was able to complete our performance shots and the indian shots in the park.
For the perfomance shots, Chloe and Aisling went to the music rooms and got a tambourine and some bongos - Josh E and Josh B used their bows as guitars. We got the green screen hung up and each did our own little performance in time to the music of the song 'Taper Jean Girl'.
After this, we went down to Danson park to complete the indian shots. We did a variety of camera angles and movements and we tried to make this scene reflect the cowgirl scene as much as possible without it being boring to watch.
